October has given us some fantastic Autumnal weather this year. Here are our highland cattle early one October morning.
A new 160-page book has recently been published on the history of the village of Southbourne, and is now available to buy in the farm shop for just £9. The book is full of black and white photographs from the past century, one of which is shown here.
The photo shows Stan Bulbeck on his cart, delivering fresh milk on Breach Avenue. Deliveries took place twice a day; residents would leave a jug on their doorstep, and Stan would fill the jug with a pint of milk from the churn. The cow shed was situated in the area that is now Roman Court.
UPDATE: Please note this book is now out of print.
We are now taking (whisper it) Christmas food orders at the farm shop, and there is a rather handy new page on our website giving more information here. Anything that we sell in the shop can be pre-ordered for collection, on a day convenient to you, right up to Christmas Eve.
