We at the farm shop want to make your food planning as stress-free as possible, which is why we offer our Christmas Ordering service, where you can order your food to collect on a day convenient to you. There are more details on our Orders page, but the main thing to remember is that you can pre-order absolutely anything that we sell in the shop! With that in mind, here is a checklist of items that prove to be popular each year:

Fresh poultry (or other meat): Turkey, turkey crowns, capons, duck, goose, gammon, beef and more are available to order, at whatever you size/weight you require. Plus chipolatas, bacon, sausagemeat, and a choice of stuffings.

Fresh fruit and vegetables: Clementines and satsumas tend to steal the show at Christmas, and we have a fantastic selection of vegetables to choose from.

Jams & Preserves: As well as our usual favourites (such as Onion Relish and Caramelised Onion Chutney) we also have some festive flavours such as Cranberry Sauce with Claret, Roasted Chestnut Chutney, and Christmas Pickle.

Cakes and mince pies: There are many delicious cakes on offer from Farmhouse Cookery and Westbourne Bakery, and a selection of cheesecakes and roulades from the Fab Food Co, all sourced locally. Westbourne Bakery mince pies are so popular, we sell them all year round!

Bread from Westbourne Bakery: It is advisable to order your fresh bread in advance, as our fresh Westbourne Bakery bread sells out very quickly at Christmas.

And don’t forget: Milk and cream (organic and non-organic available), chocolates and biscuits, local apple juice, and any other groceries you may need! If you are not sure if we stock something, give us a call and we can check for you.

We have also added a “gift pack” to our selection of Garlic Farm chutneys. The Curry Lovers Chutney Collection includes Cheeky Monkey Banana Chutney, and Peach & Mango Chutney, both fantastic additions to any curry dish.

The farm shop was featured in a list of the 3o best farm shops, and we are excited to have new visitors to the shop following our appearance in the newspaper. Thank you to our customers new and old for your continued support.

We have some additions to our range of produce from the Goodwood Estate. Besides the organic milk and cream (which is proving to be more popular with our customers with each passing week), we can now offer a selection of Goodwood Estate organic cheeses, and organic dry cure back bacon.

The Home Farm at Goodwood rears native and rare breeds to the highest welfare standards, feeding them on home-produced rations. This results in the finest quality of meat and dairy produce. We hope that our customers enjoy these new additions. As ever, we will continue to try and source produce locally whenever possible!

The dairy herd on the farm has a mixture of breeds, including the Brown Swiss, which produce high quality, creamy milk perfectly suited to producing ice cream. Flavours available include Royal Bourbon Vanilla, Honey & Ginger, Coffee Espresso, and Fresh Raspberry.

Let's Go! pasta, and Animal pasta - from The Bay Tree

We rather like this new shaped pasta from The Bay Tree. Let’s Go! Pasta features planes, trains and automobiles, and Animal Pasta brings a collection of zoo animals to your pasta bowl. Available in 250g bags, both are made from the finest durum wheat semolina, flavoured with tomato and spinach.

There’s a tasty addition to the Farm Shop this week, with the arrival of a new local bakery to complement our range of fresh bread from Westbourne Bakery.

Bread a la Mer are a new and exciting bakery specialising in handmade Artisan breads. Based in West Wittering (West Sussex), the bakery uses the finest ingredients, and have their own wholemeal flour milled for them at the Weald & Downland flour mill, in the Sussex Downs.

Every morning, Bread a la Mer delivers a selection of freshly baked bread to us, including Italian focaccia topped with sun blushed tomatoes, mini tin loaves filled with green olives, and a delicious wholemeal & seed loaf.

Ingredients: Two baking potatoes / One Elephant Garlic/ 2 oz butter / parmesan cheese / pepper / 1 tbsp finely chopped onion / 1 tbsp yogurt / paprika

Method: Bake two potatoes and also one whole Elephant Garlic wrapped in foil. Once cooked, slit open the potatoes and remove potato from skins.

In a bowl, mix/mash the potato with the garlic, 2 oz butter, some parmesan cheese, a dash of pepper, 1 tbsp finely chopped onion, and 1 tbsp of yogurt.

Mix well, and then return mixture to the potato skins. Sprinkle with paprika and brown in the oven under grill.

We are currently in the process of having a new entrance built, to allow easier access for pedestrians and vehicles to enter the Farm Shop car park.

The new entrance will be much wider, and should prove much easier for cars to turn in and out (particularly approaching from Chichester direction, which can be quite a tight turning at present).

Pedestrians will still be able to enter the Farm Shop at our current entrance, via a new smaller gate.

Apologies in advance for the “building site” appearance of our car park in the coming weeks, but it should all prove worthwhile in the end!
